Safeguard Medical introduces the newest product in our range of hydrogel chest dressings, the H-VENT Laminar Vented Chest Dressing. Like our premium Bolin Chest Seal, the patented H-VENT design is designed to relieve pressure on an open chest wound caused by air in the chest (pneumothorax) or body fluid (hemothorax).

Key features of the H-VENT Laminar Vented Chest Dressing include:

A unique multi-directional ventilated dressing. This allows the liquids to “drain against gravity”. This is important because it allows the injured person to be transported lying on their side, etc.

The design helps prevent clogging. This provides a failsafe system as there are 6 ports. Even if 5 are clogged, the vent remains fully functional.

The Dome membrane’s unique design creates a complete seal around the wound, reducing the risk of air or liquid finding a different path.

The H-VENT Laminar Vented Chest Dressing’s large vents allow for visual monitoring of the wound. The dome design quickly indicates when air or fluid is leaking from the chest (inflated up) or when the seal is in place (sucked down).

Internal testing has proven that the seal is maintained during inhalation and that a sustained negative (below ambient) pressure is maintained in the pleural space.
