MBC – Massive Bleeding Control
Course Goals
The number one cause of preventable death after injury is bleeding. During a massive, uncontrolled bleeding, every single minute count. An injured individual can bleed to death in as little as less than five minutes. That’s why keeping the blood inside the body through bleeding control, is the very first priority. By three simple, quick and straight-forward procedures, you can learn how to recognize it and how to do it.
This is a type of injury that can happen anywhere, anytime. We can see it everyday one the news or surfing on the web. That’s not something limited only to battlefields, nevertheless the lessons learned in those hostile environments have been transferred and applied to all normal-life situtations. Don’t be just a bystander, learn how to be an immediate responder and save a life through bleeding control.
Course Content
Syllabus
- How to recognize life-threatening bleeding
- The bleeding “chain of survival” (A-B-C of bleeding control)
- Bleeding control techniques
- Use of a bleeding control kit
Course Duration
The course run on a half practical day (4.5 hours).
Entry Criteria
The entry is open to all learners that satisfy this minimum requirements:
- A good command of Italian, English or French language either spoken, read and written.
Course Delivery
The course is a combination of classroom theory and practicals.
Course Assessment
Assessment takes the form of:
- Skills demonstrations
- Medical simulations
