The BLAST® Dressing was developed to provide the ability to pack traumatic amputations, burns and large wound patterns quickly and with minimal consumption of tools and effort.

The BLAST® pad provides a 20″ x 20″ treatment area, but is approximately the size of a 4″ task force. Our large, non-adherent dressing wraps easily around limbs and secures with the included elastic wrap. It provides a large sterile cover for shrapnel wounds or burns. With such a large area of ​​coverage, the Blast® bandage is large enough to cover the entire back or chest of most casualties.

The BLAST® Bandage also features a removable occlusive layer that covers an area of ​​48cm x 48cm or can be used to cover abdominal contents to minimize heat and moisture loss.

As with our other bandages, the “brakes” help; on the bandage to prevent accidental unrolling of the elastic sleeve under high loads. These brakes are particularly helpful when treating amputations. By providing multiple adhesion points, the brakes prevent the rubber from slipping during the wrapping process. This creates a safer, more effective dressing and reduces the likelihood of exposing the wound during movement.
